Halo Reach is the end of the line?

Halo: Combat Evolved was a huge success and really raised the bar for FPS games. When Halo 2 came out, the competition got left in the dust. halo 2 was by far way, way ahead of it's time in just about every way you can imagine. It wasn't perfect by any means, it had it's share of serious glitches, but the glitches almost contributed to it's success. Many "jumping", "tricking" and "suberbouncing" clans, tutorials, videos spawned from Halo 2.

Halo 3, more or less where we are right now, is a little different. Hugely successful yet, not the same as Halo 2. It turned out that gameplay may have taken a back seat to addons and extra features like the ability to share screenshots and video with other gamers. Not to mention the in-depth stats that are recorded and shareable on bungie.net.

I'm going to overlook Halo 3: ODST because i find it to be a part of Halo 3, just another map pack, so to speak. Not literally! You get the idea though, it's a money-maker. This brings us to Halo Reach. We still know very little about it but it really seems as though this will be the end of the line for Halo.

Really, how far can Bungie milk the Halo franchize? Not much longer, gamers aren't going to keep buying the same thing every couple of years, which for Bungie is moving more toward EVERY year.. What are your thoughts?
